Extended PLM

Product lifecycle management (PLM) is the process of the management of the complete product life cycle of a product, from idea via technical design and production, to use and service at the customer in the field. PLM integrates people, data, processes and business systems and creates the spinal cord of product information for companies. Extended implies over the chain of companies.

Project

E-PLM is broadening PLM beyond the limits of its own business, which optimally aligns the production chain of the cooperating parties. E-PLM is an experimental environemnt in which the experiments focus on safe and effective exchange of data between suppliers and customers. The results of the experiments are “best practices” that enable the participants to make important efficiency steps. This creates a closer link between suppliers and customers, which strengthens the (international) market position.

  • In the context of E-PLM, FIGO together with a number of project partners, focuses on Service KPIs. The products eventually end up with a customer, and are maintained, often based on a SLA. The user wants a well-functioning system at acceptable costs. Therefore, clear service KPIs are essential.

    The service KPIs offer possibilities for predictive maintenance. Through remote monitoring, clear dashboards and clear definitions, the customer can handle his system in a trusted manner from the supplier.

This project results in a system with which agreed Service KPIs can be monitored live.
