E-PLM 2.0 is the follow-up of the project Extended PLM. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is the process of management of the complete life cycle of a product, from idea via technical design and productions, to use and service at the customer in the field. PLM integrates people, data, processes and business systems, creating the spine for companies. Extended implies the system transcends the individual company.
E-PLM 2.0 bases the acceleration of innovation through using existing value chains across company borders. The fieldlab contains a large number of experiments working towards improving the value chain.
FIGO focusses on service and support across the value chain. Increasingly KPIs are the basis for service and support, intensifying the co-responsibility of the supplier for the operation of the customer. The external service provider requires information in relation to usage, condition and defects of the equipment, and information on relevant environmental conditions and factors for adequate service. This information flows from the machine at the customer’s primise to the service provider.
Knowing which customer KPIs (and underlying performance indicators) truly add to the improvement of the offered service is of great importance. Furthermore distinguishing between data for condition based maintenance and operational data recording aids the acceptance for sharing data.
The experiment investigates how service management can be implemented across company borders. Elements like data logging, communication and analysis will be experimented in real life use-cases.
